US War Plans Wrecked After
Saddam Builds Memorials To NY Firefighters At All Military Bases
Dick Cheney was forced to admit that
the US may have to abandon its plans to
launch a pre-emptive strike on Iraq
after satellite imagery confirmed that Saddam
Hussein has erected memorials to
New York firefighters and others who
perished in the World Trade Center
terrorist attack at all of Iraq's military
installations.

'Reassessing'
An Iraqi spokesman said today: "Iraq
pays tribute to the brave souls who died
in that terrible tragedy of which
we know nothing and were certainly not
involved with in any way."
One of the monuments, the al-Khan
Bunker of Pride is 'a permanent and
impregnable tribute to the courage
of New York' according to an Iraqi
spokesman. It also contains munitions
and a command centre.

Tribute
"At present the U.S. does not have
a bomb capable of destroying buildings and
people whilst leaving pro-American
monuments intact," says Robert Flynn, of
Jane's Defence Weekly, "but there
are reports that teams of American scientists
are working on that right now."
