Government Ups Reward For Bin Laden To $25 Million + Tanks + Helicopters
+ Nuclear Weapon
The United States has increased its
reward for information leading to the arrest
of Osama bin Laden to an unprecedented
25 million dollars and has also agreed
to throw in an assortment of tanks,
helicopters and a fully operational nuclear
warhead.
"We believe that a number of local
warlords know where bin Laden is hiding,"
said U.S. Secretary of State Colin
Powell. "We hope this offer will be enough to
persuade one of them to turn him
in."
Powell:
Hefty
Bin Laden's whereabouts is thought
to be known only to a few high-ranking
al-Queda officials and senior members
of his terrorist network. Asked if there
was any risk in giving such a large
amount of money and arms to a possible
associate of the world's most wanted
terrorist, Powell was adamant: "What, do
you think we're stupid or something?"
The CIA was unavailable for comment.
