The Media To Take A Week Off Next Month

The media is to take a week's holiday at the end of June to 'chill out' after a
hectic two years of almost non-stop activity.

The media plans to go to Barcelona if it can get a flight. Failing that, it may try
Reykjavik since it has always wanted to go there, although it knows the
destination is not a fashionable as it was maybe two or three years ago.

The internet boom and bust, 'Big Brother', the U.S. Presidential election, foot
and mouth disease and Geri Halliwell's midriff are just some of the issues that
have contributed to the media's considerable workload.

"The media has been working its arse off for the last two years," said one
industry observer. "This is a well-earned break."

As a result of the holiday, there will be no media at all from June 23rd to 30th.
People who normally use the media are advised to make alternative
arrangements.
